Position: Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary and Purpose

Lead the Finance and Supply departments, including Joint Ventures partnerships, by planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial and financial reporting-related activities. Act as a primary driver of my client's strategy along with the Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management Team, by assisting in all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting needs, and the securing of new funding.

Accountabilities

Strategic Accountabilities:

1. Contributing to the formulation of my client's overall strategy, and supporting its implementation, through aligning the Finance divisional strategy with the corporate strategy.
2. Ensuring that the Finance divisional strategy is translated into annual operational business plans, as well as directing and managing the implementation of those plans, following up on their progress, and taking corrective actions as needed.
3. Leading and champion opportunities to drive continuous improvement across the company as a whole to support the organisation's strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership:
4. Providing shared leadership and vision to the organisation, its employees, and other key stakeholders in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
5. Developing effective partnerships with other members of the leadership team, creating a common vision and view of organisational performance and challenges and opportunities.
6. Advising on selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors) to attend to the companies needs and requirements.
7. Providing insight to prepare annual budgets for the organisation, its joint ventures, and vessel managers, regarding the approved strategic plan.
8. As a member of the Board, raising and providing advice on the financial implications of business activities.

Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting:
10. Managing the capital request and budgeting processes at an organisational and departmental level.
11. Overseeing the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for my client including organisational revenue/expense, monthly closings and financial statement, balance sheet reports, and other management reports.
12. Challenge contracts and collaborate with Legal to provide opinions on agreements to ensure my client's assets and interests are protected without jeopardising relationships with joint venture partners, charterers, lenders, etc.
13. Manage processes for financial forecasting, annual and quarterly consolidation, and reporting to the Board.

Operations:
14. Coordinating with joint venture partners and Senior Management, to review and approve budgets, monthly management reports, and issues related to the operations of vessels.
15. Monitoring banking activities of the organisation.
16. Supporting operations in providing liquidity analysis, cash flow capacity, and risk associated with bidding for projects or acquiring new business.
17. Overseeing the issuance of critical financial information to ensure accurate representation of data.
18. Maintaining relations with external auditors and investigating their findings and recommendations.

Internal Controls:
19. Developing and monitoring policies and procedures within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and organisational guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues.
20. Ensuring adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.

Accountabilities - 2

Organisational & Investor Relations Responsibility:
21. Representing my client in efforts with investment bankers and potential investors.
22. Represent my client to business partners, financial institutions, investors and auditors.

Knowledge Transfer:
23. Training key stakeholders on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.

People Leadership:
24. Championing effective leadership in order to manage direct subordinates' performance, recruitment and development, and to ensure their understanding of their role in achieving both the divisional and overall strategy.

Change Management:
25. Leading and directing the organisational and operational change through business-aligned change initiatives, programmes and projects that are aligned with the best practice.

HSE and Risk Management:
26. Directing compliance to all relevant HSE and risk management policies, procedures and controls to ensure that my client provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Budgets and Plans:
27. Directing the preparation and consolidating of the Divisional budget and monitoring its expenditure, while ensuring the optimal utilisation of all available resources to protect the companies interest.

Systems and Processes:
28. Directing and managing the development and implementation of the Divisional policies, procedures, and systems that supports achieving the different set targets and plans.

Others:
29. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

* Prepare and finalise of Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss Account

* Timely disclosure of material information is made
* Ethical and responsible decisions to be made
* Ensure appropriate capital funding and structure is in place
* Maintain sufficient liquidity

Interactions and Working Relations

Internal:
* Chiefs and Senior Management - to discuss issues related to the organisation's development, operational progress, budget reviews and capital requests
* Wholly-owned vessels manager - to review, discuss, and approve budgets, monthly management reports, and other issues related to vessel operations
External:
* Financial Institutions, Rating Agencies, and Financial Analysts - to provide updates about the organisation's progress and its financial results
* To review and discuss time charter agreements, and other operational issues
* Board of Directors and senior management of joint venture partners - to review, discuss, and approve budgets and other operational issues

Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline
* Master's Degree or specialised certificates
Experience:
* 15+ years of related experience of which a minimum of 8-10 years should be in a similar position/responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry

Job Specific Skills:

Candidates should have experience within a Publicly Limited Company, dealing with a global portfolio and investor relations (stakeholder/shareholder).
