£32 per hour (Umbrella rate)

ARM are currently supporting one of our clients in Peterlee with the recruitment of a Category Buyer for an 18 month contract.

The Category Buyer is responsible for the purchase of machinery, equipment, parts, or services necessary for the business.

Requirements:

* Support execution of category strategy for Tailored Categories.
* Develop and manage suppliers' performance.
* Gain deep understanding of supply base in Europe and become a trusted advisor to internal customers.
* Managing policies, agreements, source catalogues, and special purchasing programs.
* Provide leadership for sourcing, logistics and resource management decisions.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and liaison with corresponding Category Buyers from other regions.
* Daily tasks such as but not limited to Invoice grief, Supplier shortages, Expediting materials.
* Evaluate and monitor contract performance.
* Liaise between Customers and Buyers in challenging situations.

Requirements:

* Previous Purchasing experience ideally within a Manufacturing business.
* Experience in developing working relationship with others inside and outside the department.
* English (advanced level); MS Office (Excel); good communications skills
* MCIPS qualified preferred.
