Biomass Supervisor & Engineer in Boston, Lincolnshire

PermanentAt ARM within the Energy Division, we are looking for experienced Biomass Engineers to join our client, who are a UK-leading Renewable Energy Heat Provider.
As Biomass Supervisor Engineer, you will oversee the regional Biomass Boiler portfolio with exceptional supervisory abilities and the skill to develop strong relationships with our team and clients.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our assets and ensuring seamless heat supply to our poultry growers, with the unwavering support of the experienced Service and Heat Supply team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all facets of the portfolio's operation, as well as for overseeing engineers and technicians who will be performing service, maintenance, and troubleshooting duties for the Company.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- To schedule all engineering works within the biomass boiler portfolio
- To organise wood fuel deliveries
- To maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and ensure their scheduling requirements are met
- Manage the materials ordering and stock control to ensure minimal downtime
- To supervise and carry out planned and reactive maintenance on biomass heating systems and associated equipment according to best practice, and in compliance with any statutory requirements and manufacturers' instructions, including de-ashing, cleaning, full servicing and system checks
- To supervise and assist Service Engineers with servicing, troubleshooting works and repairs
- Assist the Servicing and Heat Supply Team with delivering a service to the satisfaction of clients and achieving internal targets and Key Performance Indicators
- To supervise, mentor, coach and develop service engineers and technicians in your area
- Manage all aspects of HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality) for onsite works, including risk assessments/method statements and the supervision of subcontracts
- Comply with all company Health, Safety Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) processes and procedures
- Attend Service and Heat Supply Team meetings and site inspections/meetings when required
- Undertake other duties as required as delegated by the Service and Heat Supply
- The candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
Job requirements:
- You must hold a full UK driving licence
- An engineering qualification desirable (C&G, HNC, NVQ or similar)
- Experience with Biomass systems
- A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Demonstrable experience of carrying out service maintenance and repair of biomass boilers
- Experience of effectively supervising a small team, demonstrating excellent leadership and people skills is advantageous.
