Our client are seeking an Applications Development Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

You will lead and manage a small team of Business Analysts to establish business processes, application functionality and technology solutions then define and translating those requirements into functional and technical specifications matching the needs of the business with the most appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Be the lead Technical Architect and Analyst on all business system application changes including support of ERP processes across the business, ensuring all projects are completed to the required quality standard within the agreed time frames and budgets.
  • Provide all changes and projects with accurate and measurable estimates for analysis, technical design, delivery, testing and deployment tasks.
  • Manage requirements (functional and non-functional) gathering, technical design, delivery, testing and deployment within a project environment ensuring that business requirements are met without compromising safety and security.
  • Provide expertise to assist internal customer groups in identifying opportunities to maximise business value from existing or emerging technology and application landscape.
  • Provide process and application expertise to Service and BAU teams to assist in the prioritisation and resolution of service activities and change requests.
  • Lead user acceptance testing and customer sign-off.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the Business Process and Technology team.
  • Provide the link between the customer, development team and any other third-party regarding software functionality throughout the products lifecycle.
  • To maintain a working, up to date and in-depth knowledge of all relevant business systems, technologies and tools and act as the businesses SME with regards to the effective use of technology.
  • Ensure that the proper processes, resources and monitoring are implemented across the SDLC.
  • As part of the CAB board ensure adequate DEVOPS procedures are established and followed for all business systems.
  • Implement industry best practice and best in class security.
  • To effectively lead, manage the team of Business System Analysts; to motivate them so as to perform to their utmost ability and ensure that any performance or conduct issues are dealt with appropriately in line with Company policy and procedure.
  • Ensure effective communication with all key stakeholders and suppliers both within and external to the business; building strong relationships so as to support with the smooth provision and receipt of services.
  • Assist in the production of robust business cases covering the development and implementation of business changes as necessary.

Experience/skill

  • Technical team lead experience
  • Experience of implementing and managing ERP solutions (IFS, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar).
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience liaising with a PMO and being part of a CAB process.
  • Experience setting up and managing DevOps processes.
  • Experience of delivering large projects in complex environments using structured Project Methodology.
  • Experience of acting a internal technical consultant and expert in apply existing and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent understanding of SDLC and security implementation and testing best practice.
  • Familiar with Data Warehouse and Big Data analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to lead with confidence and authority whilst maintaining a collaborative working atmosphere, managing a team across multiple sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and levels.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to motivate those around them.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to understand complex requirements and provide logical and relevant solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and simplify explanations of complicated and complex business systems for individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels with both colleagues and external partners.
