Accounts Payable Officer in Gravesend, Kent

ARM are delighted to be working with One of the UK's leading ports. The Accounts Payable Officer is a permanent role based in Gravesend, offering hybrid working.
In this role, you will be part of the Accounts Payable team and will be supporting the Financial Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse invoices for all the many varied procurement types before input to the computerised system matching invoices
* Prepare cash book records, reconcile with bank statements to ensure completeness and accuracy of recorded transactions and produce month end cash reports and interest accruals.
* Check on the daily level of surplus/deficit funds for each entity and take action as necessary.
* Determine the daily level of surplus funds for the group available for overnight or longer-term investment and liaise with Treasury Agents accordingly.
* Participation in future system developments with special regard to the payment of suppliers contributing to the provision of a more efficient end-to-end service.
* Support the Finance Department Management team to produce annual accounts
* Achieve the timely production of any tax and statistical returns to comply with statutory legislation.
Requirements:
* Qualified AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB) with 2 years' experience of management and financial accounting
* A sound working knowledge of PLA's activities and procedures including the Accounts Code Book and the Delegations of Authority
* Good understanding of PLA's computerised systems including Agresso/Unit 4 business world and advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
* Good standard of numeracy / literacy
* The ability to communicate at all levels of management both internally and especially externally.
