MAHLE Powertrain Recruitment Evening - 31 July. Register today!
THE automotive recruitment event
Love powertrain technology? Want to work for one of the world’s largest automotive development partners at the UK's only Real Driving Emissions Centre? ARM is helping MAHLE Powertrain promote its recruitment evening in July 2018 and to identify the best talent in the marketplace.
What's it all about?
MAHLE Powertrain is inviting prospective candidates to its brand new Real Driving Emissions Centre (RDEC) in Northampton for a site tour, presenting them with a unique chance to see projects in action. This one-off event is like no other. Rarely does MAHLE open its doors – think of it as the automotive equivalent of Willy Wonka’s factory – so if automotive engineering is your chosen career field, don’t miss out.
The RDEC is the first such facility in this country and includes a four-wheel drive chassis dynamometer which can test to the latest international standards. The £7.5m investment means that MAHLE Powertrain will be able to test vehicle emissions at transient altitudes and different climates, enabling it to satisfy all new WLTC test procedure requirements. According to Dave Beecroft, director of sales and marketing at MAHLE Powertrain, the RDEC will: “[place] us at the forefront of the requirements of the new Real Driving Emissions legislation.”
Running on 31 July, 2018, the agenda is as follows:
- 18:30 - Drinks/canapes on arrival
- 18:50 - Welcome to MPT
- 19:00 - Introduction to MAHLE Powertrain - Simon Reader (Engineering Director)
- 19:20 - Presentation - Future of powertrain development & technologies
- 19:40 - Networking and facility tour
- 20:30 - Finish.
MAHLE Powertrain is searching for experienced engineering superstars and is inviting talented individuals to see for themselves why it's such a great place to work. As you can see, there's no requirement for interviews or presentations of any kind at this stage, instead, you’ll hear about the company's future plans, gain exclusive insight into MAHE Powertrain and discover whether it's somewhere that you'd like to work. The aim is to match top automotive talent with the right career opportunities.
> Who we’re looking for
You could be an emissions engineer or a calibration technician. Perhaps you're a project manager or principal designer. Maybe your thing is module lead-cooling, or instrumentation and control. No matter, there could be a place for you at the new RDEC. Ultimately, we're looking for people with a passion for engineering, driven by a desire to strive for perfection, and a belief and mind-set that demonstrates determination to succeed in their field of expertise. Please note we can only consider those who have the right to live and work in the UK.
In return, MAHLE Powertrain offers incredible growth and development opportunities, a diverse training programme, performance-based pay and generous flexible working options. As an employer, it values outstanding performance and encourages employees to reach their potential - in fact, MAHLE likes it when employees have goals and are ready to grow with new challenges.
> The process
To reiterate, there’s no formal interview at this stage. The evening is a chance for you to meet MAHLE and for them to meet you. This event will kick start the recruitment process, which will lead to the best candidates securing automotive jobs. Alternatively, get in touch with our Automotive Team to discover what other roles are on offer.

MAHLE has had operations in the UK since the late 1980s and since 2005 activities have expanded rapidly, partly through acquisition and partly organic growth. It now has five locations in the UK, comprising several manufacturing plants, a UK Service Centre for central support functions, an Aftermarket sales and logistics operation, a dedicated R & D centre for Bearings products and an Engineering Services business providing engineering consultancy and niche manufacturing directly on behalf of OEM clients across the globe.
Each business is fully integrated in the MAHLE organisation network, collaborating across Europe and in some cases the world. As well as opportunities in the UK, therefore, you can join staff working overseas in manufacturing plants and offices stretching from the USA to China.
MAHLE is a leading international supplier to the automotive industry. With products for combustion engines and their peripherals as well as solutions for electric vehicles, MAHLE addresses all crucial issues related to the powertrain and air conditioning technology. Today, some 78,000 employees work on innovative products at 170 locations and 16 major development locations. Working together, its people optimise existing technologies, develop new engineering concepts and set standards. By reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, MAHLE is making an important contribution – for a better climate, with every second vehicle statistically.
