With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold, Warwick and a new purpose-built HQ on its way in Windlesham, the Gordon Murray Group continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Inspector to join our team based in Dunsfold, Surrey.
About the role
This role is expected to work with R&D and manufacturing teams on how to implement the iStream®superlight technology in practice. This will involve determining what technical data and information is required, support creating design and manufacturing guidelines for the production of vehicle structures manufactured from welded/joined steel tube, Aluminium extrusions, castings and composite panels by carry out inspection work and analyse the data. The person filling the role will be the expert within the company with respect to inspection and data analysis.
Experience and qualifications:
- Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment including measurement arm experience
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of problem solving methodologies e.g. 8D
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
- Candidate would ideally have knowledge of welded Aluminium structures (structural) or/and composites (structural or visual/painted panels), bonding, plastic mouldings, exterior trim, as well as experience and knowledge in assembly processes.
- Planning and prioritizing of activities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to present data effectively
- Understanding of Health and Safety practices
- CatiaV5 (or alternative CAD system) viewer experience
