If yes to these, this is a great opportunity for you to pursue.
You will be a Sonar Systems Engineer working with a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company where you will get the chance to be involved in a wide range of engineering activities.
These activities will involve you becoming the responsible engineer for sonar across multiple programs and leading the sonar elements of system design with a particular focus on architectural integration of sonar processing and information presentation. Furthermore, you will be reviewing, advising, and approving system test plans and acceptance test documentation.
To succeed in this role you will need to have experience similar to some of the following:
- Fully familiar with sonar sensor technology, processing techniques, processing modes, performance characteristics, and display formats. This could be in either airborne or submarine sonar processing, but ideally both.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering tools processes and practices. (TOGAF, UML/SysML, DOORS)
- Requirement analysis
- Ability to direct other junior staff to achieve technical objectives and solutions.
- Solid Understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation required to support the development and acceptance of solutions.
- Understanding of Test and Qualification procedures and practices, especially with regard to requirement sell-off.
- Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner
- Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the System Engineering Lifecycle
- The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex issues, topics, and engineering principles and practices.
