Senior Signalling Test Engineer in Birmingham, West Midlands

PermanentARM are working with a Global Engineering firm that are looking for a Senior Signalling Test Engineer to join the experienced team in Birmingham. About You:
You will be an IRSE certified Tester in Charge (Major Works) or Principles Tester (Complex), with a background in site testing of mainline or metro railways signalling projects for the testing and commissioning period of the project lifecycle. You will have a thorough grounding in the requirements for site testing activities as laid down in company, customer, national and international standards and procedure, coupled with excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills associated with managing allocated staff / contractors, other departments and the customer.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Testing Manager, you will be managing a team of testing and commissioning engineers to deliver a project. This will include:
- Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are complied with
- Manage testing and commissioning activities in accordance with the project programme and budget requirements
- Ensure that your testing and commissioning is carried out and recorded in accordance with correct and up to date drawings, plans, specifications, computer software and data
- Ensure that the quality of the testing and commissioning is in accordance with relevant procedures, processes, regulations and standards
- Liaise with the appropriate Project Engineering Manager and Design Engineer for design issues
- Liaise with the Site Manager and installation engineers for installation issues
- Maximise the efficiency of site testing resources under your control
- Management of testing teams as allocated
- Establish and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the client and with subcontractors and other third parties interfaces
- Certify the system and / or systems are fit for purpose
This is a full time role based from the Birmingham office, with opportunity for hybrid working when project work allows.
What you can expect in return:
You can expect a salary of up to £78,000 DoE plus benefits package that includes, 3% bonus, opportunity for regular overtime, 26 days holiday increasing with length of service, matched pension scheme up to 10%, flexible benefits scheme and investment in personal development and support of professional institution memberships.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK without Visa sponsorship.
