Technical Superintendent – UAE – Permanent in Sharjah

Our client is currently looking for Technical Superintendents (MEIS).
As a Technical Superintendent, you will take on the responsibility of technical operational deployment, docking as well as maintenance of 4 to 6 vessels, working within various areas of the Middle East region. Working closely with the international crew on board, you will make sure that all ships are maintained to excellent technical state in order to ensure the persistence of our client's services to their clients. As a TSI, you will be reporting to the Contract Manager (P&L Responsible) with a functional line to the Group Technical Manager. The position is located in the UAE, from which you will regularly travel to different operations within the Middle East.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out coordination and maintenance work on board as well as monitor the quality standards.
* Plan, organize and supervise repairs, dockings and inspections as well as the preparation of final technical and financial reports.
* Be the first point of contact for the international crew (HWTC) to support with technical questions or defects.
* Provide technical advice, supervise as well as provide support to the Chief Engineers on Board.
* Monitor and instruct the maintenance progress as well as the quality on board using the PM system called MARAD.
* Analyse and investigate technical defects and take preventative and corrective measures within designated deadlines.
* Commit to inspections as well as guiding surveys on board by external parties.
* Draw up and monitor maintenance budgets.
* Deal with purchase orders; approve them and monitor them as well as follow up on goods received.
* Liaise with the suppliers, the classification societies as well as any other external parties.
* Monitor as well as update the ship certificates as well as technical documents.
* Handle any damage reports as well as claims.
QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be successful with your application to this role, you must fit the following criteria:
* Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, Maritime engineering or Naval Engineering.
* 4-6 years of experience in a similar role / experience as Chief Engineer.
* International work experience, preferably gained in the Middle East.
* Excellent managerial and Project Management skills.
* Good technical instructor / team player with a hands-on mentality.
* Fluent command of the English language, spoken and written. Other languages such as Arabic would be an advantage.
