My client in the utilities industry are looking for a SACM Analyst to join their fast paced team on an initial 3 month contract.
To support and participate in all aspects of the Service Asset & Configuration Management process, including development, governance, compliance, reporting and continual improvement.
Define the selection of CIs, structures, naming conventions, labelling, relationships, attributes and CI types, ensuring that CIs are adequately controlled and that no CIs are added, changed or replaced without following the agreed procedure(s) and that changes to core CMDB data is effectively validated to preserve system integrity
To work with data owners to identify their requirements and ensure completeness and currency of CMDB content.
To implement, maintain and continually increase the scope, quality, accuracy and value derived from Dependency Mapping.
Drive the adoption of the CMS as the 'single source of truth' for configuration, dependency and operational knowledge.
Establish configuration baselines and identify discrepancies through auditing
To support the Process Owner in all aspects of process and team management
Key Accountabilities
Configuration and Data Management
Ensure continued evolution of Dependency Mapping, in line with process roadmap and stakeholder requirements.
Maintain and develop CMDB integration with the CMS and other IT processes and functions. Maintain Configuration Management Standards documentation.
Document all approved change to the Configuration Management Standards.
Investigate non-compliance to standards and escalate where necessary.
Perform regular verification checks to ensure integrity of data.
Ensure all change to data is adequately validated and change controlled.
Configuration Service Management
Identify ownership of all CMDB content, ensuring that responsibilities are understood and complied with.
Maintain SACM Service Review procedure documentation.
Schedule regular service reviews with key stakeholders, driving increased value from the CMDB and ensuring increased process performance and compliance.
Capture functional requirements of Configuration Management to support IT functions and processes.
Facilitate the SACM customer satisfaction survey and produce associated measures to support service reviews.
Provide SACM Process Owner with demand forecasts based on business requirements.
Stakeholder Management
Identify and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to various levels.
Ensure regular review with other processes to increase process interoperability.
Identify and exploit opportunities to increase the value of the SACM process to other IT and Business units.
SFIA Skills Attainment
Configuration Management (CFMG) Level 5 Primary Manages configuration item
