My client in the insurance industry are looking for a BI Developer to join their fast-paced team on an initial 6-month contract.
The ideal candidate will have experience in London Market Insurance or Financial services such as Investment Banking domain experience
The purpose of this position is to assist with various BI development efforts from a technical standpoint ensuring efficient BI operations leading to optimum performance. Work closely with rest of the BI development group & analytics teams during the design and hands-on implementation of multi-dimensional database models (logical and physical), data marts, data warehousing, data transforms, data analytics and reporting solutions.
Main Duties
Design, deliver, and continually improve the technical data warehouse implementation including core ETL processes
Deliver consistent data solutions that align to the Data Management Standards/Policies whilst balancing pragmatism towards improving business developed solutions
Create, optimise, and schedule SQL Server objects, ETL packages, analysis services cubes and reporting/information systems ensuring all developed components adhere to published standards and conventions
Work alongside BI Analysts to gather requirements through solicitation sessions with business users and translate requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan
Work with business stakeholders of internal departments, external data suppliers and business partners to source new datasets that will grow and enhance data driven decisions
Ensure that Data warehouse objects developed are aligned to the company coding standards, follow company SDLC methods and data warehouse framework
Plan and organise the translation of functional specifications into technical design and test scenarios and execute unit test plans
Commitment to continuous development through structured skills and personal or professional competence enhancement programmes.
Collaborate with team members and act as a self-starter sharing knowledge where required and ensure that work is produced to a good and consistent standard
Work alongside various scrum teams following agile methodologies and manage incoming demands. Also work with product owners and other leads in the data teams to assist with data warehouse projects, small changes etc.
