ARM is recruiting for an Digital Design Engineer with experience of delivering design solutions for an initial 12 month contract opportunity with a leading defence company in Bristol.
You will be joining a mature environment, where your contributions will have a direct impact on safeguarding the U.K. at home and abroad.
IR35 Determination: Inside
As a Digital Design Engineer with experience of DevOps and SharpCloud based in Bristol, you will be responsible for;
- The Component Design Engineer is part of the Global Mechanical Systems Capability function.
- The Component Design Engineer shall create engineering solutions that satisfy functional and physical requirements symptomatic of Product System and Sub-System level environments. Crucially, the engineered solutions must exhibit robustness for manufacturing capability.
- The Component Design Engineer is responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of component design definition artefacts i.e. documents, models, definitions that meet system level and sub-system requirements. The Component Design Engineer will participate within an IPT described by Product Lifecycle System (PLS) and operate in accordance with applicable Rolls-Royce Management System (RRMS) policies and processes.
- The Component Design Engineer is responsible for sub-system integration of the technical activities for their design solutions and enabling lifecycle profitability through the Supply Chain Design.
- This role will focus on Digital initiatives as a Design Engineer. A main focus will be Capability Mapping using DevOps and SharpCloud.
You should, as a Digital Design Engineer able to work in Bristol, have experience of the following;
- Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.
- An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters
- Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks
- Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region. In the UK - attained/ working towards Chartered status is preferred (and equivalent regional variations)
- Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation
