We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Driver / Forklift Operator to join a busy aerospace and defence operation based in Brize Norton. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated Part 145 environment, supporting warehouse, logistics and transportation activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and security.
Shift Pattern
- 5 days on, 4 days off rota
- Rotating days and nights (one week days, one week nights etc)
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00am to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 7:00am
- Average 40.5 hours per week across the year
- 16.88% uplift for night shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including 3.5T vans and forklifts
- Transport materials to designated locations on and off site
- Load, unload and handle materials in accordance with logistics and airworthiness requirements
- Support warehouse operations, including goods in/goods out activities
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure paperwork is accurately processed
- Assist with inventory and material handling tasks
- Comply with all company quality, safety and security procedures
- Ensure excellent housekeeping standards within the warehouse
- Remain vigilant regarding FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control
- Support managers and team leaders with ad hoc operational requirements
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles, including vans
- Forklift experience and certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Experience operating material handling equipment
- Previous warehouse, logistics, materials support or supply chain experience
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS/security clearance
- Flexible approach to working rotating day and night shifts
- Good level of written and spoken English
Desirable Experience
- Aerospace, aviation, defence or military environment experience
- Experience working within a Part 145 regulated environment
- Experience in secure or restricted-access facilities
- Knowledge of airworthiness and logistics procedures
