The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior API/Integration Developer to join a major public sector technology programme on an initial 7-month contract.
This is a hands-on development role focused on delivering bespoke integrations between internal systems, cloud platforms and third-party applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Azure and C#/.NET, alongside a proven background in developing and supporting complex integration solutions. Candidates with strong integration experience using Python or other comparable programming languages will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop bespoke integration solutions between multiple systems and platforms.
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party applications and services.
- Build and support cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Develop integration components and applications using C#/.NET or another suitable programming language.
- Work with APIs, web services and other integration technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and application issues.
- Work closely with developers, architects, technical teams and stakeholders to deliver integration solutions.
- Contribute to technical design, documentation and development standards.
- Support testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance of integration services.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable and maintainable.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance.
- Strong commercial experience in bespoke systems integration.
- Proven experience integrating systems with third-party applications/services.
- Strong Microsoft Azure experience.
- Strong development experience with C# / .NET or a comparable programming language.
- Experience working with APIs and web services.
- Good understanding of integration patterns and software development principles.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative Agile environment.
Desirable
- Experience with Python.
- REST / SOAP APIs.
- Microservices and cloud-native development.
- Azure integration services.
- CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience integrating legacy and modern systems.
- Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.
