We're supporting a leading technology organisation in the search for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a major cloud transformation programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an SC-cleared professional with strong Azure infrastructure and Microsoft cloud expertise to work on complex, enterprise-scale environments.

The Role

You'll be responsible for designing, deploying and managing secure, scalable Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments, ensuring high availability, resilience and performance across hybrid infrastructures.

Working closely with architects, developers and security specialists, you'll play a key role in delivering robust cloud solutions that align with best practice for security, automation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and manage Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud environments.
  • Build secure, scalable and highly available hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Implement and optimise Azure resources to deliver cost-effective, high-performance platforms.
  • Integrate cloud services with existing on-premise infrastructure.
  • Configure, manage and optimise Azure and SaaS services.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve cloud environments to ensure availability, security and performance.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure and security teams using DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Support cloud data lifecycle management and operational governance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Active SC Clearance (essential).
  • Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure solutions.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Identity Management).
  • Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Intune solutions.
  • Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with monitoring, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of DevOps / DevSecOps principles and Agile delivery.
  • Good knowledge of networking concepts including LAN/WAN within cloud environments.

Desirable

  • Experience designing High Availability (HA), Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (or equivalent Microsoft certifications).
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or another STEM discipline.
