Contract: Full-time, 7.4 hrs/day, 5 days/week
Start: ASAP | Duration: 4-5 months
Salary: Umbrella £37-£40.83ph
About the Role
A leading public sector organisation seeks an experienced Press Officer to join a fast-paced press office supporting senior leadership. The role covers proactive and reactive media, events, briefings, and multi-channel communications, including social and emerging content platforms.
Responsibilities

Draft press releases, media quotes, briefings, op-eds, and social content.

Respond to high-volume media enquiries and support events/photo opportunities.

Advise on media strategy across policy areas.

Maintain media relationships and contribute to media databases and channels.
Skills & Experience

Proven press office experience, ideally in public sector communications.

Strong writing skills and ability to work independently under pressure.

Experience with London/national media; knowledge of non-traditional media is a plus.

Flexible for occasional out-of-hours events.
