Key Duties:
1. Safe Systems:
- Develop, implement, and continually improve safety systems and procedures to safeguard employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure the application of safe work practices throughout the organization.
2. Incidents:
- Investigate and analyze incidents and accidents, providing recommendations for preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and near misses, tracking trends for further improvement.
3. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for compliance improvement and adherence to CDM regulations.
4. Communication and Engagement:
- Foster a culture of safety and wellbeing through effective communication, training, and awareness programs.
- Collaborate with teams to raise safety awareness, promote best practices, and engage in open dialogue regarding health and safety matters.
5. Reporting:
- Prepare and distribute regular safety reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain a reporting system to track key health, safety, and wellbeing metrics.
Requirements:
- Membership of IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (NVQ Level 4) in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Demonstrable auditing experience.
- CDM (Construction Design and Management) awareness.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system.
- A valid driving license for site visits and inspections.
