Systems Network Engineer in Fareham, Hampshire

PermanentAs a System Engineer, you are responsible for implementing technical solutions throughout the entire Programme & lifecycle. You will be one of the customer's primary technical contacts throughout the programme.
Working closely with our customers and users, generating detailed requirements and implementing the changes in a live environment which is here to save lives for years to come is the opportunity. We are looking for a System Engineer who is up for this challenge.
Your Main Responsibilities
Network Implementation
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
- Set up and manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
Security Management
- Implement defined security measures to protect the network from external threats, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls
- Support regular security assessments and vulnerability assessments
Network Monitoring and Optimization
- Monitor network performance, analyse data, and optimize network resources for maximum efficiency and reliability
- Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate resolution with other project members
Systems Integration
- Integrate the Frequentis ATM product portfolio with 3rd party applications, such as e.g., customer-provided network monitoring solutions, voice recording platforms or data warehouse applications, seamless communication, and functionality
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure that the delivered solutions meet the requirements set
Documentation and Reporting
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation of system / network configurations, changes, and incident reports
- Prepare and present reports on network performance, security, and capacity
- Contribute to the solution / system development
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure network systems comply with industry standards and regulations
Recovery and backup
- Develop and maintain recovery plans for network systems
- Implement backup and recovery procedures for critical network data
Your Experience
- Network infrastructure in safety critical environment is essential.
- Experience working within a Project delivery environment.
- Ability to Collaborate with cross-function teams including IT Support, Cyber Security professionals and PMO/ Project Management functions.
- Communication systems experience desirable.
