Senior Operations Manager – Nuclear (6 month contract) in Warrington, Cheshire

PermanentThe Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our client, who are an established Leader in Nuclear Civil Engineering, to work on Nuclear Power Plants around the UK. Candidates must be willing to travel for this position.
What your role will look like:
The senior Operations Manager will lead the operations and programmes within Operating Plant Services. This role is accountable for operations, programme P&L and the maintenance and development of key relationships within the main client and other key clients.
- Accountable for leadership of safety and quality at Whetstone and across programmes.
- Responsible for P&L within the department.
- Ensure all employees are developed, utilised and deployed effectively and employee performance & engagement is maximised.
- Develop and implement plans, approaches and improvement programmes to deliver ongoing annual objectives for Programmes and the site.
- Support / Lead strategic growth campaigns within areas of responsibility through the deployment of the gold and blue sheet process.
- Support bidding work within programmes and Whetstone as required to achieve order book and pipeline.
- Development and implementation of cost improvement programmes within the department.
- Implementation of a structured continuous improvement programme.
- Liaise with other internal functional departments in releasing new products, materials, equipment, facilities and process updates to ensure appropriate testing and introduction of improvements and changes while maintaining continuity and achievement of schedules.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with the main client and other key clients and studies/monitors key competitors and market trends and opportunities.
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience working as a Project Manager / Senior Operations manager in a Nuclear environment
- Proof of relevant qualifications
- Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance
- Must be happy to travel for this role
Details of the role
Location: Warrington / Bristol / Rosyth (Hybrid)
Contract: 6 months (could be extended)
Rate: £Competitive hourly (inside IR35)
