Security Contracts and Visits Support Officer

Initially a 12 month contract

Stevenage Based

A leading Defence and Aerospace company is actively looking for a Security Contracts and Visits Support Officer to join their team due to an increase in workload.

As the Security Contracts and Visits Support Officer you will be working with a market leading company who aims to provide you with a good work life balance by offering aspects to the opportunity such as hybrid working.

Due to the nature of the role, BPSS clearance is required to start with SC clearance being required during the role.

What you will be involved in:

  • You will be part of a highly motivated and progressive security team
  • Part of a wider support mechanism that enables us to conduct our business
  • Complete and record accurately all work in relation to Security Contracts and the Visits processes
  • Inputting records in a timely and accurately manner to the MOD, organising and updating security data and clearance requests and inputting data to security systems
  • Supporting the wider business, Projects, Procurement and Export Control in obtaining Security Clearances
  • Support the team in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organisation
  • Be point of contact for stakeholders on Security Contracts and Visits enquiries
  • Answering enquiries on security contracts and visits processes
  • Liaise with UK MOD and other external agencies when appropriate
  • Monitor external IT platform to obtain and update security clearances
  • Monitoring Email and Post, responding to queries

Skillset/experience required:

  • Experience of work in the Security and Defence Industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent work ethic, motivated and enthusiastic
  • Professional meticulous approach with focus on accuracy
  • Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required
  • IT competency, including Excel and Word and willing to learn new systems
  • 'Can do' positive attitude
  • Able to act in the strictest of confidence with Security and Contracts data - integrity is paramount
  • Ability to challenge, negotiate and problem solve when required
  • Willingness to learn new standards and processes to apply best practice security

Desirable experience:

  • Experience and knowledge of MOD and defence industry
  • Awareness and knowledge of classified Security contracts including the F1686, F680 and Security Aspects Letters process
  • Experience of work in the Security Defence environment particularly with classified Contracts/Visits
  • Experience of IVCO process for Visits
  • Relevant qualification or industry experience
  • Security awareness for the ongoing aftercare of security contracts and visits
  • Presentation experience for the delivery of training
  • Knowledge of security risk management
