Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP Technical Architect to support a major SAP Brownfield Implementation and Enhancement Programme, helping transition the organisation to a secure, modern, cloud-aligned SAP S/4HANA platform.

The role will focus on establishing a clean-core architecture, maximising standard SAP capabilities, reducing customisation and technical debt, and enabling scalable, future-ready and AI-enabled business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, design and govern technical architecture across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, HANA, BTP, PI/PO and Fiori/UI5.
  • Design robust SAP landscapes covering DEV, QAS, PRD and DR, with focus on performance, scalability, HA and resilience.
  • Lead SAP integration architecture using SAP BTP Integration Suite/CPI, PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, OData and event-driven patterns.
  • Develop end-to-end integration strategies across SAP and non-SAP enterprise platforms.
  • Provide technical governance, architecture reviews, impact assessments and design assurance.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, enterprise architecture and clean-core principles.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience designing and governing SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC technical architectures.
  • Strong SAP Basis, HANA, performance, sizing, HA/DR and security knowledge.
  • Deep expertise in SAP integration technologies, particularly BTP Integration Suite/CPI and PI/PO.
  • Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, OData, APIs, IDocs, RFCs and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience leading technical architecture tracks within large-scale SAP implementations, migrations or S/4HANA transformation programmes.
  • Experience with SAP on public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence technical and senior business stakeholders.

Desirable

  • SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework, TOGAF or Zachman experience.
  • SAP BTP services including Event Mesh, API Management, Workflow and Business Rules.
  • Exposure to Kafka/Event Hub, DevOps/CI-CD and API governance.
  • Fiori Elements, UI5 and side-by-side BTP extensions.
  • SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud or cloud-native analytics.
  • Experience in complex enterprise environments such as retail, manufacturing, FMCG, pharma or supply chain.
  • Experience leading Architecture Review Boards/governance forums and multi-vendor delivery teams.
