We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Disciplinary Rolling Stock Project Engineer to join a Fleet Heavy Overhaul team, providing engineering support across the delivery of safe, compliant and assured rolling stock overhaul projects.
The successful candidate will lead and support a range of engineering activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating engineering resources where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support rolling stock engineering activities across overhaul projects.
- Produce, review and analyse technical documentation.
- Apply relevant railway standards, legislation and operating requirements.
- Analyse complex technical data and provide reports and recommendations.
- Coordinate engineering resources and mentor junior engineers.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Support testing, manufacturing and operation of rolling stock systems.
- Apply engineering, risk management and project lifecycle principles.
- Respond to emerging technical issues and agree appropriate actions with stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Experience with Rail Vehicle Systems / Rolling Stock Engineering.
- Experience within rail, ideally London Underground or a similarly complex, safety-critical environment.
- Experience producing, reviewing and analysing technical documentation.
- Knowledge and application of relevant Railway Standards.
- Experience with rolling stock system design, testing, manufacturing and/or operation.
- Understanding of maintenance and overhaul requirements.
- Knowledge of risk management and engineering project lifecycle processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; MS Project and Power BI would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or equivalent engineering qualifications/experience.
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
