2-3 times on site in Reading per week

My client in the utilities industry are looking for a Release And Cutover Project Manager to join their fast paced team on an initial 6 month contract.

As an integral part of the CPR Programme team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Release & Cutover Lead and will have direct liaisons with key Business, Programme and IT Workstream leads.

The successful individual should be highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical Project Manager with utilities and consultancy experience. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the successful execution of customer data and functional migration projects during weekends. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, understanding of the utilities industry and systems and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Establish and maintain highly effective relationships within the CPR Programme, IT and business teams to ensure requirements are integrated into the overall cutover plan.

Primary deliverable outputs include:
* Collaborate with the Release and Cutover Lead to develop a comprehensive cutover plan and timeline, ensuring the successful transfer of data from source systems to target systems.
* Assist in coordinating the activities of the cutover teams, providing guidance and support to team members throughout the weekend.
* Support producing material for stakeholders to make go no go decisions and outputs from the migration.
* Monitor the progress of cutover activities, identifying and addressing any potential risks or issues that may impact the project or weekend timeline.
* Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting during cutover activities, ensuring the smooth execution of the plans and minimizing system and business downtime.
* Support the update of documentation related to cutover processes, including runbooks and resource plans.
* Work with the Release and Cutover Team, the wider Programme team and business teams to ensure the plans are produced, resource and communicated.

Business Knowledge
* Good knowledge of the energy sector.
* Have a working knowledge of Energy Billing and industry best practices.
* Experience in the delivering or working with Electricity & Gas Billing industry implementations.
* Proven experience in release management, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
* Experience of working in high-intensity project/programme environments.
* Ability to define and execute multiple detailed activity plans simultaneously, maintaining an ability to articulate progress and status clearly to key stakeholders.

Essential Functional / Technical Skills
* Preferred qualifications to include: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner, SAFe - Scaled Agile Framework, Agile Scrum Master.
* Proven experience on previous complex customer transformation programmes and strong track record of delivering business cutovers successfully end to end.
* Cutover Management experience with the ability to advice, guide, own strategies, approach execution, follow up and own go-no-go.
* Proficiency in working in a fast-changing technical, operational, and commercial environment, with strong business acumen.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions in time-sensitive situations.

* Strong focus on outcomes and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours when required to meet project deadlines.
