Regulatory Capital Accounting Manager in Worthing, West Sussex

Regulatory Capital Accounting Manager - Durrington, Worthing - Contract - £300 per day- Inside IR35

Advanced Resourced Managers are working for a private utility company who are looking for a Regulatory Capital Accounting Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract basis.

Responsibilities

* Managing production of the capital accounting elements of the annual statutory accounts including the provision of information for external audit
* Managing production of the wholesale opex and capital regulatory accounts for the Annual Performance Report including the provision of information for external audit
* Managing production of the monthly management accounts - capital accounting, fixed assets and regulatory information
* Managing production of the budget and execution plan for fixed assets, depreciation, capitalised interest and regulatory information
* Ensuring that all regulatory financial submissions in relation to the capital programme and wholesale operating costs are completed on time and in accordance with Ofwat guidance
* Ensuring that financial controls and governance is maintained regarding the capital programme
* Provide technical advice to the business on the application of accounting policies and changes to accounting rules and legislation in relation to capital accounting.

Requirements

* Professional Accountant - qualified as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA
* Significant level of technical understanding of accounting issues - for example the accounting and treatment of capital expenditure and capitalisation of interest
* Strong understanding of the financial accounting controls required to provide assurance over financial reporting both statutory and regulatory
* Strong technical understanding of the regulatory framework and the requirements of Ofwat in relation to regulatory reporting and business plan submissions
