Our client is leader in providing cutting-edge Technology to the Telco industry and they are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join their tech team with expertise in manual testing and some exposure automation.
Skills:
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a QA Engineer role.
ISTQB (or equivalent) Foundation Level certification is desirable.
Good problem solving and analytical skills.
Has a wide experience in writing test cases for embedded electronic systems from hardware level to the application layer
Experience in identifying, defining and developing detailed test cases and automated test scripts to test against all relevant product requirements and assure traceability to those test cases
Good knowledge of IT/network communications protocols (IPv6, DNS, TFTP, UDP)
Experience in using Waterfall, Agile, and V-model test methodologies
Experience in log analysis.
Experience in HP ALM and Jira.
Define and impletementing Test Scripts with a Selenium based Automation Framework.
Experience in Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
Expert in Defect management
Soft skills used for cross Supplier Triage
Knowledge of the SDLC.
Industry experience with defect management systems and workflows.
Role:
Test products in order to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, performing functional sign off.
Proactive, willingness to take the initiative and associated responsibility.
Ability to interpret user requirements, detailed technical and functional specifications and apply this information to plan, develop and execute test scenarios and scripts.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Identify, document and resolve issues and defects in QA environment.
Ability to work across Domains / Testing as a Service.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, cross-departmental and, on occasion, with external clients.
Responsible for manual testing, data testing and some automated test execution testing of the application.
Work closely with Product Owner's and developers to agree test cases and their acceptance criteria.
Strong technical skills and some automation experience.
Preparation of test plans and scripts against new and existing application requirements.
Experience of contributing to a QA strategy, approach and execution for both manual and automated testing on development initiatives
Execute and build out regression testing packs and identify areas for automation.
Coordinate with broader IT teams where there are testing system dependencies.
Manage and troubleshoot defects to resolution while proactively identifying risks to management
Maintain timely reports on test status and defects
Coordinate between client and other teams (local and international)
Desirable:
Knowledge - Devices (GBCS, Zigbee), Networks, IT and Sm2m.
Good knowledge of short range radio and protocols(ZigBee, IEEE 802.15.4(g), mesh radio)Demonstrable experience of writing SQL scripts for data extraction and validation purposes.
Experience with a focus on radio and protocol testing
Some experience in Service Virtualisation, Test Data Management and TDM tools (Delphix, CA).
Experience in the following industries: metering, utilities, telecommunications (non IT)
Knowledge in DLMS/COSEM for smart electricity and gas meters (ideally SMETS knowledge).
