Prototype Build Technician in Nuneaton, Warwickshire

We are looking to recruit a Prototype Build Technician to join our client's R+D site based in Mira. Working as part of the prototyping/production team, we are looking for a team of diligent and versatile Technicians who are passionate about making an impact through their skills. Initially a 6-month contract, with a view to being taken on permanent if you are a good fit for the team!

No two days will be the same, as the team rotates roles and everyone is up-skilled in all areas of work.

Responsibilities

·Assembly of prototype and low-volume products.

·Use of hand tools, soldering equipment, inspection gauges, and custom tools.

·Conducting leak, electrical, and performance testing, following defined processes.

·Supporting with test rig setup and build for new products or specific test requirements.

·Assembly, configuration, and setup of workbenches and workshop equipment.

·Support test cell activities.

Essential Skills

·Good hands-on workshop skills and dexterity for detail work.

·Ability to follow complex work instructions, including highlighting deviations from processes and giving feedback on potential improvements.

·Experience with mechanical assembly.

·Ability to use specialist equipment with appropriate training.

·Good safety and quality awareness, with the confidence to stop and highlight risk.

·Ability to work effectively as part of a small team with a degree of autonomy.

Desirable

·Experience of working in highly regulated manufacturing (automotive, aerospace, medical) would be beneficial.

·Experience with electronics and ESD.

·Support simple tool room activities.

·HND or equivalent in Engineering.
