Project Engineer – Infotainment SW in Surrey

Responsibilities:
- Closely working with the Chief Engineer of Electrical Systems and Project Leaders, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of infotainment software (centre stack display, cluster, heads up displays) from concept to production.
- Plan, develop and integrate android based software and features (including technologies such as Alexa, CarPlay, AndroidAuto, Navigation, etc) required to satisfy vehicle functionalities and customer requirements through to product certification.
- Lead technical discussion with suppliers, internal cross-functional teams, and partners through the full development cycle.
- Own the definition of software requirements for the Infotainment unit (working with system architects, UX/UI and product team) and generate the digital traceability as part of the functional decomposition.
- Work with stakeholders, within and external to the Gordon Murray Group, in order to identify software solutions that will contribute to the overall success of the vehicle programme.
- Technical understanding of the components within the infotainment system and their interaction with onboard vehicle network communication and multiple bus principles (CAN, Ethernet, Flexray, LIN).
- Management of technical deliverables, project plans and open issues decks for assigned systems to support on time delivery to the vehicle programme.
- Issue reporting into JIRA with traceability of failure mode and links to log/test/evidence files for the whole infotainment domain.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Five or more years of demonstrable experience in managing the delivery of a new infotainment SW for a global vehicle.
- Demonstrable experience reporting and managing software defects through JIRA or equivalent.
- Practical experience with vehicle architectures, specific experience around display protocols and networks is desirable.
- Experience in using logging tool (e.g. CANoe, CANalyser, etc.) and understand how to analyse the data collected. Exposure to automotive diagnostics tools.
- Technical understanding of the components within the infotainment system and their interaction with onboard vehicle network communication and multiple bus principles (CAN, Ethernet, Flexray, LIN).
- Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
- Full driving licence is essential.
- No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union
