JOB PURPOSE:
The Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) are responsible for continuously improving the quality of the vehicle exiting the plant. To achieve this, the team audit finished vehicles and apply problem solving techniques to rectify any issues found. The purpose of this role is to lead cross-functional teams to resolve safety and quality issues, thus enabling the continuous improvement of the product exiting the factory.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the resolution of problems in a timely manner, by influencing and guiding cross functional teams.
- Work with other Aston Martin departments and with Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Gather data in the right time frame and right format, data organisation and analysis, problem definition and root cause analysis taking on full responsibility for continuous improvement projects where necessary.
- Work with and influence other key areas of the business to align fault definitions with the goal being to create an aligned system that enables both internal and external data to be simply collated.
- Key relationships of this role will be the rest of the Quality department including other Technicians, Engineers and Senior Manager. Also, with Client Services, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Design and, from time to time, Suppliers
- Role may require working between AML locations and sometimes requires visits to dealerships and suppliers both domestically and internationally.
- The Problem-Solving team shall comply with internal and external procedures to ensure satisfactory completion of both internal and external audits. Failure of any single element of this role is likely to result in non-conformance during audits.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High end, luxury automotive experience.
- In depth experience of complex problem resolution (DMAIC, Green/Black Belt or equivalent)
- Demonstrable evidence of teamworking and influencing those based outside own department.
- Good understanding of Customer requirements in an ultra-high luxury brand.
- Able to manage their own time and be able to hold stakeholders from other functions to account on resolution of their elements of the problem.
- Engineering/Manufacturing degree or equivalent
- Will be required to lead the team's continuous development and to support with appraisals and recruitment (as required) with support from the Senior Manager.
- Customer focus, commitment, continuous improvement, communication are all essential for this role.
