My client, a well known Bank is looking for a Payments Enterprise Architect to join their fast paced team on an initial 6 Months contract.

The Enterprise Architecture function is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall IT architecture of the company. This includes aligning the IT architecture with the business strategy, planning and implementing IT changes, managing IT risks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The team is a critical part of the IT strategy, and by providing a framework for planning, implementing, and managing IT changes, the enterprise architecture function helps the business achieve its business goals and objectives.

This role reports to the Head of Payments & Cards Architecture.
The Payments Enterprise Architect is responsible for the strategic architecture of payment systems at the company. This includes developing and maintaining the overall payment systems architecture, as well as ensuring that payment systems are aligned with the overall business strategy. The Payments Enterprise Architect also works with other teams within the business UK to ensure that payment systems are secure, compliant, and efficient. The Payments Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in the success of the organisation. By developing and maintaining a sound payment systems architecture, the Payments Enterprise Architect helps to ensure that the company can continue to provide its customers with the best possible payment experience.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the capabilities within the payments domain,
* All stages of the payment process, including initiation, order management, execution and E&I.
* Knowledge & experience of industry schemes including FPS, Bacs, CHAPS, SEPA, and crossborder payments.
* Knowledge & experience of industry standards, including ISO 20022
* Knowledge & experience of industry initiatives including RTGS renewal, NPA.
* Developing and maintaining the overall payment systems architecture strategy and ensuring it aligns with the overall IT and business strategy.
* Developing and maintaining the payment systems roadmap and supporting the delivery of the strategy through the project portfolio.
* Leading and reviewing the work of solution architects, understanding alignment with strategy, and supporting them through governance.
* Staying up to date on the latest payment technologies and industry trends. What you'll bring.
* Proven architecture experience: The Payments Enterprise Architect must have proven architecture experience in complex areas, and knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF and BIAN.
* Strong domain knowledge: The Payments Enterprise Architect must have a strong understanding of the payments domain, the payments business and how payment systems impact the bottom line.
* Proven ability in strategy and roadmaps: The Payments Enterprise Architect must have experience in establishing & maintaining strategic roadmaps ensuring alignment with stakeholders across different technologies, business areas both locally & globally.
* Strong technical skills: The Payments Enterprise Architect must have a strong understanding of payment systems architecture and design. They must also be familiar with the latest payment technologies and trends.
* Excellent communication skills: The Payments Enterprise Architect must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including business leaders, technical staff, and vendors.
* Strong governance and leadership skills: The Payments Enterprise Architect must be able to lead solution architects in the production of their designs, and govern those against strategy and standards within the organisation. The architect must be able to support the design assurance process and participate in architecture process improvement.

It would also be nice for you to have.
* Experience of using architecture tools such as Avolution Abacus.
* Knowledge & experience of AWS & cloud architecture.
* Knowledge & experience of cards architecture.
* Experience of defining & building APIs.
