The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Nuclear Engineering Manager to join the Nuclear Defence client, to be based out of Aldermaston.
Job Overview:
Our Nuclear Engineering Managers are the focal point within our Engineering organisation supporting our existing and new high-hazard facilities and operations.
Engineering Nuclear Risk Management is the maintenance and upkeep of our engineered safeguards that support our nuclear safety cases and incorporates the periodic review of safety assessments.
Some of your duties will include:
- Be responsible for maintaining a live safety case for a facility which will include managing the production of engineering design substantiation and assessments to demonstrate that our new and existing assets (facilities, infrastructure, plant, and equipment), are safe to operate and are compliant with legislation, Nuclear License Conditions, standards, and requirements throughout the asset life cycle.
- Provide management of professional engineering services in support of the CASD Programme and the company's strategic goals
What do you need to succeed?
- Able to work across functions, providing a supportive interface between the Facility, Safety Case Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Authorities we will be looking for you to have some of the following knowledge and experience:
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment with responsibility for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering design and outputs which underpins continuous safe operations.
- Experience working in a multi-discipline environment with responsibility for the engineering design and guardianship of high-integrity assets through the whole life cycle.
- Experience in articulating technical complexities, able to direct work and team to meet the program.
- Knowledge of legislation and standards relating to safety and safety maintenance within engineering e.g., HSAWA, CDM, and their application if needed.
- Experience in configuration and change control: governance, and implementation on a Nuclear licensed site. Including a line of sight from maintenance results to the engineering schedule
- Experience in Maintaining a live safety case.
- Experience in conducting assessments to support the Periodic Review of Safety
- Qualifications required:
- Ideally, candidates will be professionally registered (Incorporated or equivalent with equivalent academic qualifications (HNC/HND)
- Key requirements and essential skills for the role:
- Individuals carrying out this work must have extensive experience of preparing nuclear EDS, LC15 & MSP 1515
Must have DV Security Clearance
