Network And Infrastructure Engineer in Chichester, West Sussex

PermanentOur client are seeking a Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding team.
You will be responsible for the design, improvement, maintenance and monitoring of the organisation's LAN/WAN infrastructure, both on site and hosted, ensuring the infrastructure is available at all times.
Responsibilities
- A key point of contact for network, infrastructure, telecommunications and desktop application projects. Working with project managers you will be responsible for the the planning and coordination of tasks in order to facilitate smooth delivery of infrastructure projects.
- Using knowledge and experience to design our infrastructure that is fit for purpose now and in the future.
- Assess and evaluate new approaches or solutions to ensure that we are making the best use of available technologies or services.
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve our LAN/WAN infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and optimum performance.
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve system security including server patching, mobile device management, system access policies, virus & malware checking, encryption and internet security.
- Working with third party consultants facilitate and contribute to the design, configuration and deployment of new infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth.
- Install, maintain and continuously improve wireless networks to ensure high availability, resilience and security at all times.
- Ensure technical system documentation is produced and maintained.
Experience/skills
- Experience within an IT infrastructure architecture or maintenance role
- Experience of design and/or implementation of cloud technologies
- Knowledge of IT practices such as ITIL
- Experience with onsite contractor management
- Wireless technologies
- Active Directory, DHCP, GPO, DNS
- Exchange Server and Office 365
- Networking - LAN/WAN/MPLS, VPN, Firewalls
- VMWare ESXi 6.5, 6.7
- Anti-virus software
- Backup technologies (Veeam preferable)
- Web and Email filtering systems
- Telephony platforms
Desirable skills
- Windows Server 2012 and above
- Routers: Cisco, Ubiquiti, Juniper
- Switches: Cisco Catalyst, Aruba, HP
- Wireless Access Points: Aruba, Aerohive, Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki
- Network Appliances: DNS Servers, DHCP Servers, proxy servers
- Network Monitoring and Management Tools
- Network Security Technologies:
- VPN - FortiClient, Cisco AnyConnect, OpenVPN
- AntiVirus/Anti-Malware: Sophos Endpoint Protection
