NDE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Energy Team here at Advanced Resource Managers are currently recruiting for several NDE Development Engineers to join a leading Nuclear/ Defence client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development, justification and application of high integrity inspection techniques.
  • Working across a range of areas, you will be involved in the testing of high integrity components through all stages of life.
  • You will operate as part of a close-knit team with technical excellence and customer satisfaction high on the agenda and be responsible for developing and implementing new methods of non-destructive examination, using bespoke remotely operated machines.
  • With quality paramount to the success of our business, you will be required to demonstrate compliance to relevant company, national, and international standards to a level beyond reproach.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • We are searching for NDE Development Engineers of all levels, ideally these individuals will have experience in developing and justifying inspection techniques in accordance with European Network for Inspection and Qualification methodology
  • The above experience should have hopefully been gained in a relevant industry, such as heavily regulated operations, or products and services, which high levels of reliability and integrity are required.
  • You will ideally possess a degree in Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Professional qualifications in NDT are highly beneficial (e.g. PCN, SNT, ASNT, MIPS, GUIDE), with the ideal candidate qualified in UT and ET techniques.
  • Majority of inspections use remotely operated automated equipment, and experience in the operation of Automated Ultrasonic & Eddy Current Testing systems.
  • A demonstrable ability to work in a highly technical environment, in multidisciplinary teams and to tight deadlines is required.
  • Less experienced candidates who have strong academic qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply. The company encourages career growth and training is available to enable employees to reach the required skill levels and attain any necessary professional qualifications.

Travel

  • You will be required to travel away from home to support field developments, normally no more than 2 weeks at a time and typically less then 25% of yearly employment.
  • During deployments you will typically be required to support 12-hour shift working on a 24-hour 7 days per week basis, including weekends and statutory holidays when required.
  • Appropriate documentation and health pre-requisites for UK travel are required and must be maintained by the individual, a valid driving licence will be required to enable travel between sites.
  • You may be exposed to difficult working conditions and will be required to be physically capable enough to move in and around the products (in line with H&S policy). You will be required to meet the relevant job-specific Health & Safety certification requirements including classified radiation worker.
