About the Role

As a Marine Environmental Advisor, you''ll be part of a team within Marine Operations, helping to manage navigation channels, assess environmental impacts of third-party works, and deliver accurate tidal data services. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with environmental stewardship in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance dredging and manage navigation channel assets
• Assess environmental impacts of harbour works and ensure regulatory compliance
• Analyse tidal data and manage the Thames 2D hydrodynamic model
• Support river users with reliable tidal products and services

Essential:

Degree in physical sciences or engineering
Experience in dredging, coastal processes, or tidal modelling
GIS proficiency and strong analytical skills
Excellent communication - able to explain technical matters clearly
Professional membership (e.g., ICE, IMarEST, Geological Society)

Desirable:
Postgrad qualification in Marine Geology, Coastal Engineering, or similar
Familiarity with marine construction and UK consenting processes
Local knowledge of the Thames Estuary
