ContractJunior Data Analyst
Role is onsite 3 days a week in Dublin.
We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst with approximately 2-4 years' experience to support a large-scale banking transformation programme. The role will focus on data migration, data quality, testing, validation and issue resolution, working with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, complete and ready for migration.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working hands-on with data, managing several tasks at the same time, and following issues through to resolution. This is not a data science or AI role; the focus is on practical data analysis and migration support.
- 2-4 years' experience in a Data Analyst, Junior Technical Analyst, Data Migration or similar role.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, validation and investigation.
- Strong Excel skills; Power BI would be an advantage.
- Experience with data cleansing, reconciliation, data quality checks and validation.
- Experience supporting testing/UAT, documenting results and tracking defects or issues.
- Able to produce and maintain clear documentation, including data mappings, issue logs, test evidence and audit trails.
- Comfortable investigating data anomalies and working with others to identify root causes and resolve issues.
- Strong organisation skills and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks/workstreams.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to ask questions and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, credit, regulatory or data migration programmes would be beneficial but is not essential.
Essential Skills -
- Strong Excel and Power Query - comfortable with mid-complexity formulas such as XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, IF/IFS, INDEX/MATCH and SUMPRODUCT, and able to use Power Query for data preparation and review.
- Data validation and problem-solving - experience reviewing, reconciling and investigating data, identifying anomalies/data-quality issues and following them through to resolution.
- Proactive and organised - able to work independently, take ownership, manage multiple activities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder communication - confident engaging directly with SMEs/business users to clarify and resolve issues.
- Additional technical skills - basic Power BI and/or data migration experience would be useful. SQL remains part of the original client requirement, although the immediate day-to-day work is particularly Excel-focused.
