Our client, is an award-winning and leading design, engineering, and landscape architecture consultancy whose highly talented people are passionate about creating places that are attractive, innovative, sustainable, and safe.
We are currently recruiting, on our client's behalf, an Engineer, within highways, traffic & transportation to join their team based at their newly opened offices in Kent. You will join a vibrant team and work on prestigious projects across the Southeast, predominantly with local authority clients but also with some design & build projects.
The role is hybrid working, based in the Southeast. The role will also include regular co-operation and inter-office working with other regional teams.
You will work on a range of infrastructure projects bringing real change to our communities by providing new Public Realm improvements, vital transport links and delivering access to jobs and driving social value through the wider benefits of our projects.
The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate qualification and good experience in the following areas:
- Educated to a minimum Degree level in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Progression towards Chartered Engineer status with relevant professional institution
- Understanding of highway / transportation design principles and applied design standards to designs
- Good Microsoft Office Package skills including Word, Excel and Powerpoint are essential
- Advanced User of AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports on technical matters
- Awareness of the application of Health & Safety and CDM duties on projects
The following skills will be seen as beneficial but are not essential to the role:
- Digital Design Tools for production of deliverables (AutoCAD, MicroDrainage & Civils 3D or equivalents).
- UK public sector highways / infrastructure projects.
- Experience in working in collaborative teams with clients, contractors, external design team members, local authorities, statutory bodies and other third parties.
