About the Role:

The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking an EC&I Supervisor (Nights) to join our leading Nuclear Civil Engineering and Solutions Provider, working within defence, power and decommissioning.

Some of your roles may include:

  • Ensure employees understand and comply with the Company's Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies. Conduct workplace checks and maintain records of safety measures. Provide training and protective equipment to employees.
  • Collaborate with Staff Representatives to resolve disputes.
  • Communicate with labor and promote understanding of the Company's business.
  • Foster effective communication between team members and other groups for optimal efficiency.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors as necessary.
  • Supervise employees and maintain auditable daily records.
  • Follow location-specific rules, regulations, and safety requirements, ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Only assign competent personnel to work.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to quality planning documents and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain progress records and submit them to management promptly.
  • Ensure employees are aware of potential issues and sign relevant method statements and quality plans.
  • Follow method statements and quality plans, ensuring proper signing and dating as work progresses.
  • Enforce adherence to hold points in instructional plans.
  • Report any problems encountered to the appropriate managers promptly.
  • Utilize local services effectively.
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of documentation.
  • Carry out inspections when necessary.
  • Assess and address training and development needs for team members.
  • Document and mitigate any issues affecting the project.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred or approved apprenticeship (or equivalent City & Guilds)
  • NVQ 3 in Electrical engineering (or related subject)
  • IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 (IEE 17th Edition) trained (18th Edition desirable)
  • Interpret and implement the current requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations and IEE Regulations (BS7671)
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • CSCS/ECS Card in appropriate discipline (mandatory)
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Course (SSTSC)
  • NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction Site Supervision
  • 10 years of Electrical experience, preferably 5 of which as Foreman/Supervisor, and 3 of these on site, -covering Installation/Maintenance topics.
  • Site Installation/Maintenance experience (preferred) in the Nuclear Industry/Power Generation
  • Interpret and work on Electrical Diagrams and Cable Cards
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry
  • Minimum security clearance of SC is required on site.
  • Liaison between Designers, Engineers, General Foreman, and Point of Work
  • At all times set a personal example for employees to follow in the observance of Health and Safety requirements
  • Clear, concise, fluent, oral, written, and presentational communicator
