Are you an experienced Design Approver?
Do you have Aerospace/Aerostructure/Aero Frame experience?
Do you have experience with CATIA V5?
If the answer is yes to these, then this role could be for you!
As the Design Approver you will work alongside a market-leading company where you will be involved in various tasks, including:
- Airframe structure design engineering development, MRB/Sustaining engineering
- Define design repair solutions for production non-conformance on metallic and composite aerostructure parts and assemblies. Application of Product Standards in case of alternate requirements, understanding of material requirements, etc.
- Lead Design activities and act as Technical Focal for the project(s).
- Manage the execution of the work packages identified and ensure the convergence of the delivery plans with customer requirements.
- Define the budgets required for the execution of the work packages identified.
- Coordinate the allocation and execution of technical activities between him/herself and another team member onsite/offsite team.
- Define design solutions for new components/assemblies and modifications to existing components (Composites and metallic) according to cost, weight, quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and performance.
- To provide evidence of design compliance with Customer / Technical specifications.
- Prepare drawings and other engineering data required for the manufacturing of the
- product and data submittal to the customer.
- Produce ECN as required to support manufacturing, customers, quality, and certification.
- Ensure own and teams' quality of deliveries. Verify, check, and sign off on Program co-workers' engineering drawings.
- Lead the progress review meetings with the customer project team to report progress on the work packages.
- Report KPI and alignment with the budget for work packages in progress and deliveries.
Must have skills:
- Design Approver Signatory for Concessions (non-conformance) on metallic and/or
- composite aerostructures
- Excellent knowledge of Aerostructures, Wings, Empennage, and Fuselage.
- Excellent knowledge of computerized design and analysis methods (CATIA V5)
- Experience with GD&T, (tolerance stack up)
- Good experience in aerospace Composite (honeycomb) /Metallic materials and
- manufacturing processes
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Customer-focused/Ability to establish credibility with internal and external
- customers
- Fair understanding of stress analysis principles
- Awareness of A/C industry standards, regulations, and qualification requirements
- Good English verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work to tight, demanding deadlines and customer demands
- Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Airbus standards and PLM
- Knowledge of scripting using Matlab, VB, TCL/Tk, and Python is an added advantage
