Compliance & Hardware Test Engineer in Salisbury, Wiltshire

PermanentOur client is looking for a Electronics Design Engineer in the Salisbury area.
The ideal candidate would have:
* Education to Degree or HND standard in an Engineering discipline, preferably in electrical and electronic engineering.
* Previous experience with hardware and/or compliance testing, ideally on audio-based products.
* Familiarity with modern development tools and techniques (JIRA, Confluence, TestRail).
* Knowledge of test equipment and verification for analogue and/or audio applications.
* Experience of ECAD systems, schematics, and layout.
* Problem solving and analytical skills to identify and fix root cause failures.
* Ability to work on own initiative and pick up task quickly.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to be flexible and proactive in approach to the role.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Good team player skills, ability to interact with all other departments.
Interest in high-end Hi-Fi products and knowledge of available technology and market would be beneficial.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
* Work closely with the Lead Compliance engineer on all aspects of regulatory compliance to support legacy and new products including safety, EMC, environmental and approvals testing.
* Support the development of NPD Compliance Test Plans and perform testing for prospective markets including emerging economies.
* Liaise with and submit to Approval Agencies and Test Houses, product hardware and technical reports for global regulatory and statutory certifications.
* Communicate with internal R&D, sales, and global distributors on statuary approval workflows.
* Assist the lead engineer to develop and maintain in-house test facilities and equipment.
* Assist the lead engineer to develop constructive test plans and perform testing to ensure products meet with requirements and specifications.
* Assist the maintaining of legacy test jigs with production engineering.
* Support for obsolete component replacement testing.
Working hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. For the right candidate, our client is willing to pay up to £50.000/year.
