£40-£65K depending on experience and skills
We are working with the Software Development team of a leading Defence Client to help find a C++ Software developer to join them. The purpose of the role is to undertake a range of software development activities in line with relevant processes within the projects/programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity as you will work on a project portfolio that is valued in £millions and comprises programmes spanning all stages of the lifecycle from bidding through development, in-service support and disposal.
The applicant would be expected to have prior experience of working on software development projects across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
You'll be required to -
Analyse software requirements, create software design updates to support software implementation, ensuring that the overall system will behave according to its requirements
Write software according to coding standards and maintain existing software by investigating issues and identifying pragmatic solutions
Write software test schedules and run them to test the system, demonstrating compliance with the requirements
Document appropriate information, so that others can understand the software and the system
Contribute to process improvement within the team to ensure that the team always looks to improve how it works
Liaise with other team members, teams and customers to ensure key information is understood
Key Skills & Experience we are looking for -
C++
Structured Software Design, using formal methods
Software Integration & Testing
Familiarisation with Windows Operating System (Client & Server) and other COTS technologies
Ideally you will also have experience with the below, however you can be trained on it too
Programming to coding standards: Ada
Familiarisation with virtualisation technologies e.g. VMWare
