We are looking for freelance Buyers to support the development and implementation of procurement commodity strategies that effectively use the resources available to form part of the overall department and company strategies. These positions are outside IR35

Purpose of the role

• To ensure components/services are sourced in the most optimum manner for the specific project/department
• To maintain a supplier base acceptable for the automotive industry.
• To establish project/department procurement as designated.
• To support department colleagues as and when necessary Scope of role
• To source and procure components/services
• To assist in further development of existing suppliers
• To assess potential suppliers both technically and commercially
• To provide support to assess and report on new technology/services and applications
• To assist with proposal costings, as required
• To provide a role model for Buyers and Associate Buyers
• To ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures
• To assist in day to day running of the Purchasing Department and all activities associated with it Key

Responsibilities:

• To liaise with Clients and their suppliers to ensure adequate interface
• To liaise directly with the Clients as and when necessary, on all commercial aspects relevant to the project Cars
• To undertake cost down activities as directed by the Commodity manager
• To assess existing suppliers with the aim to optimise the supplier base
