We are now recruiting for the exciting role of BIM Engineer to be involved in an industry leading, cutting-edge project for a new type of power station.

Reporting to the Lead BIM Coordinator, the BIM Engineer shall support the production, maintenance, and implementation of the BIM strategy, Information Requirements, and associated standards, manuals, environment, templates, content, training material, and Quality Assurance procedures.

The successful candidate shall support BIM Coordination exercises such as Data Processing, Model Federation, Clash Detection, Data Drops, and the provision of BIM expertise and training when required for the wider RR SMR project team.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. BIM implementation:

You must have sound knowledge of information management standards and processes in the context of highly regulated AEC projects, i.e.: ISO19650-1 to 5; PAS1192:6; COBie; UNICALSS 2015.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in the authoring of BIM Strategy, i.e., OIR, PIR, AIR, EIR, BIM Execution Plans and BIM QA strategies. You must be able to enforce BIM processes such as file or object naming strategies, attribution, systemisation, LoD, etc.

  1. CAD/BIM software proficiency:

You must be competent with most of the following CAD/BIM tools: Autodesk REVIT, Plant 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, Civils 3D, Navisworks Simulate/Manage, Siemens NX/Teamcenter.

  1. BIM processes "Business as Usual":

Familiarity with managing a CDE, building a Federated Model, clash management and reporting, action distribution, periodic BIM meetings organisation, conflict resolution, data drops, etc.

  1. Coding and automation:

Ability to demonstrate experience in identifying opportunities for streamlining BIM related processes and the development of such tools and workflows by coding, scripting, macro development and any form of CAD/BIM software API intervention would be highly desirable.

Exposure to coding languages such as Python, and Visual Basic, or graphic programming interfaces such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, or BIMFlow will be highly desirable.

  1. Team integration:

The candidate must be a motivated team player, capable to engage with relevant stakeholders to coordinate and integrate their requirements and ideas when needed.

Experience on identifying training needs, developing training material and providing training to CAD/BIM team members or other specialists will be highly considered.

Experience on mentoring and developing junior team members on CAD and BIM software, methods, and best practice will be highly considered.

Pay and Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 and £55,000 plus benefits:

  • Bonus - Performance related bonus
  • Benefits Allowance - £2200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days

  • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
