Assurance And Configuration Software Engineer in Renfrewshire

What you'll be doing:

· Ensure that processes and engineering plans relating to software delivery, assessment and management provide the appropriate levels of control and evidence to support the assurance of the software build state

· Produce the Software Register as a Customer deliverable for software

· Review software deliverables and provide advice on the legislative requirements relating to software deliverables, including software licensing and standard compliance

· Support and participate in the validation of software assurance information via audits and reviews when necessary

· Ensure the availability of necessary evidence that software within systems achieves and sustains the required level of performance in a manner consistent with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements

· Lead the running of working groups and steering groups as required by the programme and support team members to deliver their scope

Your skills and experiences:

- Authoritative knowledge of software assurance and configuration control processes and procedures.
- Experience of software/systems engineering throughout the life cycle across a diverse range of projects and domains.
- Knowledge of processes and tools used in Software Engineering.Good understanding of software quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, TickIT, etc.).

Desirable:

- Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management (SM) practices and toolsets e.g. BMC Remedy and JIRA. Practitioner, by experience and expertise, in Software Engineering and associated standards.
- Knowledge and experience of software intensive naval systems at the Whole ship level including a good understanding of the defence standards (Def. Stan 00-56, Def. Stand 00-55)
