Assistant Project Manager/ PMO Analyst

ARM are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to work on a long term contract basis with a leading client in the Nuclear/ Defence industry.
What you'll be doing
Delivering low risk, low complexity tasks/work packages within a formal project environment to contribute towards successful implementation of Capital Project Office Strategy, under the control of a project manager or senior project manager, compliant with AWE processes.
- Undertake tasks for successful implementation of Capital Project Office strategy and services. (Governance, Planning and Reporting).
- Monitor Programme reporting cadence and assist teams in reporting corporate Governance
- Update and maintain the Risk Log, Action Log, Decisions Log, and Issue Register
- Support team in defining and embedding project control and governance
- Prepare regular status reporting for the engagement leadership
- Support Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, Resource forecasting.
- Support in maintaining required tools, Standards and Methodologies i.e. Project Management artifacts & templates
- Support and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Support, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
What do you need to succeed?
- Previous experience in an APM/PMO position demonstrating understanding of planning, reporting and project governance.
- Strong team player with a proactive approach.
- Strong skills in creating and maintaining project and programme artifacts including reporting.
- Demonstrate understanding in resource planning and tasks assignment
- Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning
- Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations
- Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organisation
