Your Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an ambitious and driven individual to join our team as an Assistant Engineer Superintendent for our Tankship Management company. This pivotal role requires a candidate with a proven track record of sailing on tankers to the rank of 2nd Engineer or a solid background as a 3rd Engineer. As an Assistant Engineer Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.
**Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with the Superintendent team to oversee the technical management and maintenance of our tankship fleet.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to onboard engineers, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Assist in planning and executing dry-docking and repair projects, liaising with shipyards, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections, monitor performance data, and address any technical issues proactively.
- Assist in managing budgets and cost control related to vessel maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and records for assigned vessels.
- Collaborate with the crewing department to facilitate crew changes and ensure adequate staffing for vessels.
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
- Minimum sailing experience as 2nd Engineer on tankers, or substantial experience as a 3rd Engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of tanker vessel operations, maintenance, and engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong team-player qualities.
- UK right to work is essential.
- Ambitious, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to the success of the team and the company.
