PermanentOn a hybrid basis, we are searching for a Product Engineering Manager for one of our important defence clients in London. The company is an inventive company situated in London that works on future generation defence and security electronics devices to combat a wide range of dangers. They achieve this by using imaginative and cutting-edge technology that sets them apart from other products on the market.
The Job
The Project Engineering Manager is largely responsible for working on initiatives inside the organisation that require product development. The Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing all areas of these projects, such as project definition, project delivery, and stakeholder management. This assignment will necessitate close collaboration with the Company's Projects, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, and accounting departments.
Please note this role will require you to travel within UK and oversees and request to travel could be made on short notice.
Key Responsibilities
* You will oversee the product development engineering management.
* You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.
* You will ensure that the engineering lifecycle is followed (including adapting as needed).
* You will be in command. Identification and implementation of risk-reduction measures in programme execution.
* You will work with all other departments within the company as well as subcontractors to ensure efficient development and production of equipment to internal customers' specifications and delivery within agreed-upon timeframes.
Further Responsibilities
* Calculate the project engineering management costs.
* Work with subject matter experts to ensure that engineering solutions are expedited appropriately.
* Coordination and creation of project work statements and estimations for their completion.
* Communicate programme details and initiate departmental programme action.
* Project delivery team coordination and leadership (including suppliers).
* Progress, cost, and schedule monitoring and reporting.
Essential and requirements
* Experience of running Engineering Development Projects from conception to implementation
* 5 years experience within an Engineering development environment
* You must have good knowledge of project management techniques and processes and their application to engineering development.
* Will need to have a good understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle process.
* Can manage an engineering development team (including subcontract inputs)
* Must have the ability to manage and record budgets / spend and provide forecast information
* Have experience in presenting to Senior Management
* Have experience in risk/Opportunity management and mitigation.
