Our client, who is a leading Global security and aerospace company, who specialise in advanced technology systems, products and services provider, are looking for a Senior System Safety Engineer to join their team.
Key responsibilities as a Senior Systems Engineer:
* Day-to-day management of a safety programme of work for a number of projects.
* Hazard identification using HAZOP, DFMEA, and other techniques.
* Hazard analysis using SAE ARP 4761 techniques, including Functional Hazard Analysis
* Fault Tree Analysis, and Common Cause Analysis. Development or approval of supporting assessments including Fire and Explosion analysis, and Single Point Failure assessments.
* Hazard analysis and management using DS 00-56 and MIL-STD-882 techniques, including developing and managing Hazard Logs, Accident Sequences, and Bow-Tie diagrams.
* Review and approval of product drawings, change requests, safety analysis, verification reports, and supporting documents against best practice and project specific safety assessment goals.
* Regular reporting on the achievement of the safety programme to the Safety and Reliability Manager.
* Arranging and managing project safety reviews to endorse product risks.
* Working closely within the Safety Management System (SMS) to implement safety management procedures across design, production, and maintenance operations for selected products.
* This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and to develop our products and techniques to meet tomorrows challenges. This is a technical role, suited to someone with an analytical / methodical approach, and with excellent engineering knowledge. The team are looking to develop our tools and techniques, taking advantage of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) through SysML failure modelling. The role offers 25 days paid leave with flexible working hours including a 9-day fortnight (where project deadlines allow).
Experience required:
* Safety analysis within the aerospace field
* Hazard Analysis/ Functional Hazard Analysis
* Interpersonal communication and negotiation skills are essential
* Experience in implementing product safety practices
* Good computer skills
* Experience with Isograph Reliability Workbench and/or Ansys Medini would be an advantage.
