PermanentAre you an experienced Project Engineer looking for a new opportunity? I'm currently recruiting a FTC role which is based in Bedford and offers a competitive salary!
Responsibilities
* Working within a team of engineers and technicians to co-ordinate and supervise test activity, creating and updating project timing plans to ensure deadlines are met for various activities.
* Liaison with the customer (Industry), MoD, OCCAR and ARTEC to meet their specific requirements for day to day activities.
* Liaison with Departments and onsite facilities used by customer i.e. Workshops, Offices, and Tracks etc.
* Liaison with off-site test facilities to plan and organise time and resources to fulfil the requirements of each test program to maintain and develop test schedules.
* Fully understand the customer requirements of test programs and communicate the requirements clearly to other staff.
* Develop/specify and continuously improve existing processes, procedures, equipment or facilities.
* Provide off-site support when required
* Specify data capture needs in order to meet customer requirements.
* Operation of data acquisition systems.
* Assist with operational and financial responsibilities as required.
* Develop test scenarios with customer and other departments
* Make engineering judgements regarding the performance of the customer test vehicles and quality of test data.
* Write test reports, report results and conclusions customers and support them in investigation work to resolve any questions
* Review and provide authorisation of results and test reports.
* Develop safety cases and prepare risk assessments
* Conduct analysis and validate data and lead investigations into sources of errors, resolve technical issues.
* Work with customer/approval authorities testing including participation in worst-case discussions.
* Develop test capabilities within the military vehicle subject area.
* Design new test techniques and put forward novel solutions to existing problems.
* Help to develop and support other team members
* Undertake analysis of results, including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations
* Act in accordance with the behaviours for staff at all times
Requirements
* Hold a full UK driving licence (HGV or PSV advantageous)
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline
* General data acquisition understanding and ability (essential)
* Knowledge of sensor types and applications (essential)
* Knowledge of electronics and circuitry (essential)
* Knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems (essential)
