ICT Engineer - Software Factory

Initial 6 Month contract - Inside IR35 - market rate

Reading based - hybrid working -2 days a week onsite

Defence sector - must have current and active SC Clearance

Job purpose

The ICT Engineer supports the implementation, operation, maintenance, and evolution of Software Factory platforms, development toolchains, and automation capabilities.

Key Accountabilities and Objectives​

Accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

• Support software development, build, test, and deployment activities.
• Configure and maintain Software Factory tools and environments.
• Develop scripts and automation utilities.
• Support platform integration and operational activities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support end users.

Lifecycle Management

• Support platform maintenance and upgrades.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support deployment and release activities.

Governance

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and processes.
• Maintain configuration and operational documentation.
• Support audit and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in Software Factory, DevOps, CI/CD, or ALM environments.

Desirable Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Devops certification or other CI/CD environments

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• DevOps and CI/CD fundamentals.
• Version control and software development processes.
• Scripting and automation.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Team collaboration and communication.

Desirable:

• Experience with Software Factory environments.
• Model-Based Development exposure.
• Cloud, container, or infrastructure automation experience.
• Experience working with MoD and Defence Prime system integrators and suppliers preferably in aerospace.
• Experience working transnationally.
• Familiarity with system, data and technical architecture.
• Architecture across the full system engineering lifecycle.
• Effective communication and management of stakeholders including Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Engineers, IT team and end users to ensure all needs are considered and expectations are managed.
