CNC Machinist - Points and Crossings

Location: Lillie Bridge Depot, London
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: 6 months rolling

Pay: £44.49 per hour (Inside IR35)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy rail engineering team based onsite at Lillie Bridge Depot.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines, producing high-quality components to engineering drawings and required tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC machinery using Heidenhain controls
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
• Carry out machining operations to required tolerances and quality standards
• Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
• Identify and resolve machining issues and make programme/tooling adjustments where required
• Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
• Strong Heidenhain control and programming experience - essential
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of machining processes, tooling and inspection
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing or maintenance environment is desirable
• Ability to work onsite at Lillie Bridge Depot
